Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the process in which specific 'keywords', I.e. certain words specific to a certain subject which are regularly used in search engines, are placed strategically throughout content created with the purpose of being published onto the internet. It is used on websites and in blogs, articles, podcasts and videos.
When it comes to using SEO within these mediums, most people assume that keywords are only necessary within the actual content to be published. It is a necessity to use keywords within the content, however something that the majority of people don't realize is that these keywords should also be incorporated into the code of the website. This is something many people neglect to do.
The reason it is so important to incorporate your keywords into the code of your website is search engines crawl through the code of a website rather than just the visible content. This means that there are numerous opportunities to include your keywords long before you focus on the visible content on your site.
With keywords placed within your websites code you'll gain an advantage over the competition as your site will be deemed more relevant and your site will be rewarded with a higher place in the search engine results and greater visibility.
Now, there are two ways to go about doing this; if you are confident working with HTML code and have experience coding websites then you will be able to do this yourself. However if you are reading this article then chances are you're new to website creation and building. If this is the case then hiring a professional in the SEO field is your best bet.
A quick search on Google or your search engine of choice is all you'll need to do to find someone who can do this for you - however if you're on a tight budget then you can head over to what is personally my favorite website: Fiverr.com! Have a look on there at all the professionals who can optimize your website for $5, there are plenty to choose from.
Take a look around and decide on who you feel will be the best candidate. Remember to check their feedback too! The customer never lies and so you can always rely on customer feedback as a reliable, trustworthy source on how well a particular expert performs.
Now you know how adding keywords into the code of your website can help bring even more traffic to it. If you implement this with all of your websites you could end up on the first page of results in Google and if this happens then the sky is the limit!
