How to Build a Huge Network Marketing List

By Michael R Hall
Most people in MLM want to know, "How do I get more network marketing prospects?"
The main thing in a referral based business is to talk to people about the business, but after we've talked to everyone we know, how do we talk to the people we don't know?
If the business is the vehicle from where you are now to where you want to be, then the fuel for that vehicle is the names of your network marketing prospects on your list. The best network marketing prospects, the premium fuel, are the people you have the best relationship with.
So after you've recruited your warm market, it's time to start building your cold network marketing prospects list. But adding names from the phone book just isn't going to cut it and blasting a link for your business site out, to anyone's email you can get a hold of, is just going to piss people off.
No question, learning online network marketing strategies is important for building a massive list, but more important than knowing what to do, is knowing how to do it.
The objective of your online network marketing efforts is to add names to your list. Building your cold list is really about adding to your warm list. That is, developing your relationships with people.
The fastest way to build a relationship with someone new to your network marketing prospects list, is to give them more value than you receive from them. Help them where they are at to get more of what they want and your value in their eyes will go up.
Imagine this scenario: You don't have a home based business. Instead, you're an auto-mechanic. You meet someone new at a party and after a bit of back and forth they ask you, what do you do? You tell them, "I fix cars." They then say, "No way! My car has been making a funny sound for like a week, but it seems to run fine. Would you mind checking it out for me?"
What do you say to develop rapport with this person:
  A) "Well, my fee is $100 to have a look, but don't worry, I'm the best mechanic in town, and if there is something wrong with your car, you can feel good about my high rates because I'll have it running like new in no time."
Or,
  B) "I'd be happy to take a look at it. Why don't you bring it by my shop sometime this week and I'll look it over, no charge."
Now, imagine you in a similar scenario with your home based business and you meet some who says, "Man, this economy has been tough, we're barely keeping up with our bills."
Do you say:
A) "Well, I operate a home based business and if you sign up with me you could make an extra $2000/month. All you have to do is sign up 2 people, then they sign up 2 people, and so on and before you know it you're making extra money to catch up with those bills."
Or,
  B) "I know what you mean, finding work that pays enough to support a family is getting harder to do, and the cost of living seems to always be on the rise. This isn't really the time or place to get into it, you know, it's more of a night to be social, but if you'd be interested in knowing more, what I do is help people earn enough money working part time from home to get ahead of their bills. Would it be alright with you if I took your information and then we could talk another time and see if I might be able to help you?"
Which of these options is more likely to develop a relationship of trust with your potential network marketing prospects?
The key to online network marketing, is to think about the internet as a big party where you're getting to know people. It's not about telling everyone how wonderful you are and how great your product/service/opportunity is. It's about providing people with assistance where they are at, and inviting them to find out how you might be of further service.
To get that information to people, you need a "home" they can visit you, and "invitations" to that "home".
Building your online network marketing presence to meet new network marketing prospects can include social media, blogging, solo-ads, article directories, video marketing. Learning how to use these online network marketing strategies is essential for creating a HUGE network marketing prospects list.
Most people haven't got the first clue how to begin building an online network marketing presence, nor can they afford the high cost of paid online services that don't yield results. Some people have found great, FREE information for using the unstoppable power of the internet to generate an endless stream of free leads for their business.
