Consumers are willing to go deeper into their pockets to cater for the high costs associated with this innovation. The benefits are a huge consolation as the connectivity achieved can be used for a wide range of applications such as cable television.

The cost of fibre optic cable installation should go lower in the near future as the coverage of networks becomes more widespread. The cost of the materials and resources needed in the setting up of this infrastructure is also going down drastically over time.
