Details On Toothpaste Alternatives People Use

By Stephanie Walker

In the recent times, many people are avoiding the usage of commercial tooth pastes preferring the natural ones. Reason being, there are some ingredients found in the retail brand that poses some question marks. For example, the fluoride is an ingredient that was believed to prevent the cavities, but it has toxins that might harm the user. For that reason, it is good to try toothpaste alternatives especially the natural ones. Examples are as listed below.

The baking soda we use in our daily food preparation is one of the alternative things you can use. It is used in the manufacture of the commercial toothpaste meaning it has a potential of cleaning the mouth. You only need to mix it with some water then dip the brush in the mixture. Afterward, brush your fangs properly, and you will realize its effectiveness with time.

Sea salt is one of the most natural substance you can use. The salt contains natural minerals that are potent in killing bacteria hiding on the teeth as well as in the mouth. Also, has minerals with the capability to strengthen your gum. It is one of the easiest things one can use and accessible. You only need to dip your brush into a container with the salt or make a solution then comfortably use it.

In some parts of the world, people use sticks as an alternative. They have specific types of trees from which they cut brushing sticks. They believe the tree has some components essential for the choppers health. Hence they use those particular tree branches to remove food particles from their teeth. But, in most cases, they do not get the minty fresh taste like commercial products.

In other instances, you may opt to use coconut oil. The oil is cheap and available. It is a natural component that is used on its own or by mixing it with baking soda or even with sea salt. Coconut oil is much effective because it acts as an antibacterial and anti-fungal product. Therefore, it helps in controlling the bacteria in your mouth.

If you cannot access any other kind of toothpaste, and you are in a hurry, plain water will serve the purpose. You will just need to dip your brush in some clean water and use it comfortably. The alternative will not give you the flavor you might get by using other cleaning agents nor will it cover up the odor, but it will help remove food particles from your teeth.

Some people have claimed that natural and unscented soap can assist in better mouth cleaning than the pastes. The soaps do not have any of the harmful chemicals contained in the commercial cleaning pastes. Some specific soap brands have been manufactured for this purpose. Hence, you can get them in a shop, but you need to avoid using the scented ones.

Also, you can use hydrogen peroxide as a cleaning agent. Once you mix it with some other element like sea salt, you make it the mixture more efficient in whitening and strengthening the teeth. But, you need to take caution not to use hydrogen peroxide severally since it has some side effects.
