Google's Latest Algorithm Updates - Using Them To Your Advantage

By Yusef Naser

There are two strategies that people use in order to reach page-one rankings on the search engines. The first is called on-site optimization and the other is called off-site optimization. On-site optimization pertains to designing your website in an appropriate manner, with links going from your sub pages to your main page.

An easy way to blast your way to the top of the search engines is to use high authority sites. You can set up blogs on Blogger, WP.com and send thousands of links to these websites and find your way to the top of the search engines. The same is also true for some of the video sites, PDF sharing sites, and many others. The key is to not use a brand-new domain to use the link blasting technique or else you will definitely find yourself in the sandbox right away.

Although blasting links still might work with high authority sites, if you want to rank your own site, you need to use high quality links. If you can get a link from an authority site pointing at your website, even if it is brand-new, the page rank of that website will help boost it to the top.

Finally, you need to add some high PR backlinks to your website. These can come from either follow or no follow links. They follow link means that the link is passing link juice to your website, helping it to move up in the search engines. A no follow is theoretically not passing any link juice, but depending upon the website, it may actually be providing help based upon its authority.

Whether you are using high authority sites, or getting high quality links, you can still beat Penguin and Panda by using these strategies. They will still be viable today, and even in the future, because Google respects authority above all else.
